India Wins Under-19 World Cup 2012

Once again India proofs that they are best in cricket rather than any other team. India's Under 19 team win its third ICC Under 19 World Cup 2012 against Australia after a gap of four years at Townsville. India beats defending champion Australia in the final by six wickets which was held at Tony Ireland Stadium. Victorious team skipper Unmukt Chand became the third skipper of a Under-19 winning team of India. Before that under 19 Indian team win the World Cup under the captaincy of Mohammad Kaif and Virat Kohli in the year 2000 and 2008 in Sri Lanka and Malaysia. India and Australia is the only team which can win the Under 19 World Cup three times.


Skipper Unmukt Chand scored brillient unbeaten 111 runs against Australia's tough bowling line and give a signal to selector that he will be in in the senior team very soon. India's nerve wrangling victories in the quarter-final over Pakistan and New Zealand in the semi final pushed their confidence level very high and the result will come in the final against Australia.

Australia entered in the final without losing a match and they were looks most favorite in the final. But Indian team spoiled their hopes and win its third Under 19 World Cup sitting on the shoulder of their skipper Unmukt Chand and Smit Patel. Unmukt and Smit Patel make an unbeaten 130 runs partnership which helps India easily to surpass Australia's 225.

Cricket governing body BCCI announced that they felicitates 20 lakh to each player and 15 lakh for team management and support staffs.
