How To Enable Confirm File Delete Dialog in Windows 8

Whatever you delete in windows xp or other windows versions it asks your confirmation to delete that file. But in windows 8 whatever you delete it directly goes to Recycle Bin without asking your confirmation. To enable confirm file delete in windows 8 you need to edit registry. To enable confirm file delete dialog you need to o the followings:

1. Press Windows key + R on your keyboard to open run dialog
2. Type regedit on the blank space and click OK
3. Click Yes
4. Now navigate to the following key by clicking on the small triangle sign against them :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

5. In previous windows version there is a key under Policies called Explorer. Now right click on the right side pane and go to New and click Key and give its name Explorer. 6. You need to create DWORD value for key Explorer. Again right click on right side pane and click DDWOD (32 bit) and give its name ConfirmFileDelete. 7. Now right click on it and click Modify… or double click on it and change the Value data from 0 to 1.

After doing that restart your system to see the changes. If you want to switch to windows 8 default mode just delete the DWORD ConfirmFileDelete and key Explorer and restart your system.
