Everything About Your Web Search History

Can you guess what I am going to discuss here? No, don't worry! I will solve your confusion. I think reading the headline many of you have understand what thing is going to be discussed here. Here I discuss about our web history. No need to say what is history. Everyone has idea more or less. History is nothing but the records of data that what you had done in past. If someone ask you some question who was the first president of USA?

Who was the first Prime Minister of India? What happened in the Battle of Waterloo? If you have historical knowledge regarding this particular field you will have right answer. So this the rough idea about history. Don't fear I am not going to ask any historical questions.

I am here to discuss only about Web History. I have asked some of my friends who are always glued on internet about web history. But everyone fails to provide me answer. They never hears this name. Reversely, they ask me what is it? Many internet users do not hear about web history.

A Web History a place of your Google account where everything is tracked and stored about your activity on the internet. When anyone create a Google account, his Web History is automatically turned on. Many of you never know this. If you want to check your web history just click this link https://history.google.com/history/ and login to your Google account with your default username and password. Once you have lodged in you will see all your activity according to different categories.



There are categories like Web, Image, Videos, News, Shopping, Ads, Maps, Blogs, Books, Visual Search, Travel, Finance and Bookmarks. You find your searched data in this 13 categories.

Do you know? You can delete your history too. If you wish to delete the history of any desired category then select the desired category and click the checkbox against Remove items and then click Remove items. To see older data just click the Older button located right hand side below your Settings button (gear icon).

How to Turn Off your web history?

If you do not want anything to be tracked and stored in your web history then the better option is to turn off your web history. To turn off the web history just click the setting button (gear icon) and then select Settings. After that click Turn off. Once you click turn off your web history is turned off. Nothing will be tracked and nothing will be stored in your web history regarding your activity on internet. So I recommend you to turn off your web history so that nothing should be tracked.


How to Delete all your web history?

Deleting all your Google activity nothing will remain in your web history. Everything tracked and stored in past in your web history will be deleted permanently. In the above picture you can see two rect colored rectangle. One is Turn off and another os delete all. To delete all your past Google activity permanently click the setting button i.e, gear icon and then select Settings. After that click click delete all and then again click Delete all. Your history will be deleted permanently.

The above thing is regarding to your activity after the lodged in to your Google account. Similarly you can delete all your browsing data offline. The difference is in the second part your browser will store your activity. Now let's clear your browsing data offline.

Clear your Browsing data Offline                                         

In the first part I have discussed about your web history of your Google account. Now here I discuss how to clear your browser's history offline. No matter what browser you are using. Your browser will track and store information about your search activity.

Clear your Browsing data in Google Chrome

If your are using Google chrome then do the few steps to clear your browsing history. Just press Ctrl + H on the keyboard, your chrome history will open. Here you can select the time range also. It has five time range options the past hour, the past week, the last 4 week and the beginning of time. Choose the desired time range and then click Clear browsing data. Again click Clear browsing data. Wait for few seconds. Your browsing history will be deleted permanently.

You can open Chrome history from Customize and control Google Chrome button i.e, the horizontal bar located extremely top of right side of Chrome browser. Click Customize and control Google Chrome button i.e, the horizontal bar located extremely top of right side of Chrome browse and then select History Ctrl+H.

  

Clear your Browsing data in Mozilla Firefox

If your are using Mozilla Firefox then do the few steps to clear your browsing history. Just press Ctrl + Shift + Del on the keyboard, your Firefox history will open. Here you can select the time range also. It has five time range options Last hour, Last two hours, Last four hours, Today and Everything. Choose the desired time range and then click Clear Now. Wait for few seconds. Your browsing history will be deleted permanently.

You can open firefox history from menu bar also. Click History and then click Clear Recent History... Ctrl+Shift+Del. After that click Clear Now.



Private browsing in Mozilla Firefox

To enable private browsing in your Mozilla Firefox click Tools in the menu bar and then select Options. After that select Privacy tab and then select never remember history against Firefox will: in the History section and then click OK. Your firefox will restart in private mode.



Clear your Browsing data in Internet Explorer

If your are using Internet Explorer then press Ctrl + Shift + Del on the keyboard and then click Delete. Wait for few seconds. Your browsing history will be deleted permanently.

You can open internet explorer history from menu bar also. Click Tools and then click Delete Browsing History... Ctrl+Shift+Del. After that click Delete.



Private browsing in Internet Explorer

You can use InPrivate browsing in internet explorer. InPrivate browsing helps prevent internet explorer  from storing data about your browsing session including history, cookies, temporary internet files and other data. So the better option to user InPrivate browsing in Internet Explorer.

To browse privately press Ctrl+Shift+P on the keyboard or click Tools in the menu bar and then select InPrivate Browsing Ctrl+Shift+P. Your InPrivate browser window opens now.
