How To Redirect Your Blog From Blogger To Custom Domain

In my earlier post Get Your Own Domain At Just $2 From GoDaddy I show you how to buy a domain from GoDaddy. And in this article I will guide you how to redirect your blog from blogger to your own domain.

Steps For DNS Settings

Step 1. First login to your blogger account.

Step 2. Click Settings.

Step 3. Under Settings, click Basic.

Step 4. In the Publishing section, click Edit. Enter your domain name for example www.manidin.com below Advanced setting. Here you need to note down both the CNAME second line below www and ghs.google.com which are marked in red in the below image.

Step 5. Now login to your GoDaddy account and click My Account and then click Visit My Account. Here you will see details of your account. Now click Launch against Domain. See the below image.
Step 6. Click your domain name. See the below image.

Step 7. Now you need to click DNS Zone FileSee the below image.

Step 8. Click Edit. See the below image.

Step 9. This is most important part of your DNS Settings on GoDaddy to redirect your blog to your own domain. Here you need to enter the two CNAMEs Name, Label or Host field and Destination, Target or Points To field that you have got from blogger's settings.

Under CNAME (Alias?), you need to replace the Points To field @ with ghs.google.com and host field ftt withd www. The Destination, Target or Points To field ghs.google.com is same for everyone. Now you have successfully entered the First Host and Points To field.

Now click Quick Add to enter the second CNAME that you have got from blogger's settings. Enter the Name, Label or Host field for example s5xrses3wmek under the Host filed and enter the Destination, Target or Points To field for example gv-mp7gmulxkpmv4a.dv.googlehosted.com under Points To filed that you have got in the Step 4. Remember this Name, Label or Host field and Destination, Target or Points To field is different for everyone. See the below image.
Step 10. Now click Save Zone File.
Step 11. Click OK.
You have done your DNS (Domain Name System) Settings on GoDadday. Once you have saved your settings on GoDaddy your blog will redirect to your new domain just after a few minute. Now try it for your own domain.
