Steps to Block TCP Port 139 and 445 and and UDP Port 137 and 138 for Extra Security

Step 1. click Start button and type firewall.cpl in the search programs and files.

Step 2. Right click on firewall.cpl and select Run as Administrator


Step 3. After that click Advanced Settings


Step 4. Now select Inbound Rule.. in the left side pane and then click New Rule in the right side pane.


Step 5. Now click Port and then click Next

Step 7. Now click Block the connection and then click Next

To to enable or disable SMB protocols on the Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012 follow the below steps to run the following commands.

To disable SMBv1 on the SMB client, run the following commands :

1. sc.exe config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb20/nsi
2. sc.exe config mrxsmb10 start= disabled

To disable SMBv2 and SMBv3 on the SMB client, run the following commands :
1. sc.exe config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/nsi
2. sc.exe config mrxsmb20 start= disabled

Step 1. Open My Computer in your Windows 7

Step 2. Click Organize in the top left corner and then select Folder and search options

Step 3. Now click View tab and uncheck Hide extensions for known file types


Step 4. Finally, click Apply and then click OK.
